General Assembly

The general assembly of GTM e.V. is the central and most important decision-making body of the association.

Its tasks are

  • Acceptance and approval of the annual report and discharge of the Executive Board
  • Vote on amendments to the articles of association
  • Vote on admission fees and membership fees
  • Approval of members admitted by the Executive Board during the year
  • Election (and dismissal) of Executive Board members
  • Approval of the rules of procedure for the remuneration of the Executive Board or the transfer of tasks to the Secretariat
  • Vote on the dissolution of the association.

Currently, every member of the association has one vote in the general assembly. The meetings take place regularly on a yearly basis, often co-located with an international relevant conference (e.g. EGU). The general assembly may also convene in hybrid or online meetings.
